Steam locomotive 2705
is one of eight of its class imported from the United
Kingdom in 1913 for the NSW Public Works Department.
In 1916, all were transferred to the NSW Railways for
service at Narrabri West until decommissioned between
1957 and 1950. (Eardley, 1973:31)

Built in 1877, loco 1210 is the oldest main line locomotive
in NSW at Platform 1, Sydney Central Station. With loco
1709 (the second oldest, built in 1887), 1210 was used
to haul a special commemorative re-enactment train to
Parramatta on Monday September 26, leaving Sydney Central
at the same moment 150 years ago of the first official
train service ran to Parramatta.
