One
of the most breathtaking coastal features of the Australian continent
is Hinchinbrook Island, between Townsville and Cairns in North Queensland.
The tangle of mangrove inlets at the bottom right is Missionary Bay.

My
newest neighbor, a baby ringtail possum seen from my kitchen window.
The little guy was dead to the world and I was a little concerned,
as they don't really sleep out in the open like this. Perhaps it was
temporarily separated from its mother. Hasn't been seen since, but
there has been a fair bit of noise up in the roof lately. February
2001.
