Built in 1938 by Singapore's first local architect Ho Kwong Yew (who was unfortunately executed by the Japanese Army during the occupation of World War 2) is the iconic Expressionist and Art Deco shophouse on the corner of Circular Road and Lorong Telok. Originally known as the Tai Chung Building and used as office space, it recently housed a micro-brewery.

The dazzling construction layers at the base of the Parkroyal on Pickering leaves an impression that the building was constructed with a 3-D printer. The effect results in some brilliant street level architecture at the base of what is quite a magnificent building.

A significant symbol of wealth and prosperity for the Chinese community during the Lunar New Year celebrations, ancient Chinese coins which were round on the outside to represent the heavens with a square eye to represent the earth. The busy South Bridge Road in Singapore's Chinatown.
