At this stage of the race, Alfa Romeo was second behind Wild Oats XI.

Problems for AAPT2, something had possibly happened with the main halyard. Just a second before this shot was taken the whole mainsail dropped from its fully set position, roughly two metres above from where it is seen here. Whatever the situation, the race was over for AAPT2 only a few minutes after the start.
